Raising Autonomous Children: Understanding Attachment Parenting

Sure you’ve heard about attachment parenting, but how do you apply it in everyday life? How does that change when your child is a toddler versus a teen? The workshop provides a space for parents to gain evidence-based knowledge, receive awareness and support, and bring forward their own questions. This workshop is suitable for parents with children of all ages

In this workshop, you will:

  • Increase your understanding of attachment parenting and its impact on development

  • Learn about the use of positive discipline and how to instill boundaries without threats

  • Gain insight about providing consistent care without reaching parent burn-out

At the same time, Malak Kamel, M.A., will lead a discussion about:

  • Raising confident, empowered, and autonomous children despite our busy work lives

  • The impact of attachment styles on how we relate to others and form relationships

  • Attachment parenting in the context of single, separated, or blended families

Throughout the workshop you will hear multiple examples and perspectives from others; we ask that you provide others with openness, confidentiality, and respect, allowing for a collaborative and supportive discussion to speak freely about what matters most to you.
